The Circle of Life

Wow! The Lion King 3-d is KILLING IT at the box office! Not sure I would shell out the money for a 3-d movie ticket but it does make me want to dig the VHS version out and watch it. :)

The re-release of the movie also brings us gems like this.

Watch the clip, rewatch the movie and you too can reminisce and wax nostalgic with all your friends--but without spending the dough.

P.S. Speaking of dough, why don't you make these to eat while you watch Simba grow up. Sounds like a perfect fall evening!

Bridesmaids Gifts

An Etsy roundup of some cute bridesmaids gifts for the bride on a budget:

Vintage Perfume Bottles
To add some bling to her dressing table.

To jot down her great ideas.

For a touch of whimsy in her kitchen.

Doodle Monster

Wouldn't it be fun to take a page from this Scottish company, get creative with a sewing maching, and turn doodles into a plaything? I wasn't very gifted with crayons as a child (unless they were paired with a Strawberry Shortcake coloring book) but I would have been immensely excited to see my imagination creations come to life!

Chickpeas

To class up your snackin' habits without losing the satisfying crunch of a chip try roasted chickpeas! I love making these--so easy and cheap. I like to season mine with Breaux's Bayou Shakedown which you can find here.

Tumble

I'm obessed with Brooke Shaden's conceptual photography. All of her photos feel like a fairy-tale gone wrong. I have a thing for art that depicts falling, flying or floating. Click around her site if you do too! ; )

Fun and affordable pop art prints

Perhaps my darlings Chad and Carrie would like to hang these colorful, retro gems in their abodes!

Steamy

Aren't Alyssa Monks' paintings gorgeous? They are so voyeuristic and intimate.
